I’m pleased to share that I will be speaking at the 5th Annual FinCrime Leaders Summit Southeast Asia, taking place on 2 July 2026 at The Westin Marina Bay, Singapore.
This year’s summit comes at a critical time. Across Southeast Asia, we are seeing a rapid escalation in the sophistication of cyber-enabled scams, human exploitation networks, and organised crime operations. These threats are no longer isolated—they are interconnected, adaptive, and increasingly global in scale.
Panel Session: What’s at Stake for Southeast Asia in 2026?
I will be joining an expert panel titled:
“Increasing sophistication of cyber and human exploitation, organised crime and how organisations/countries evolve their scam prevention tactics – What’s at Stake for Southeast Asia in 2026?”
This session will examine how criminal ecosystems are evolving and, more importantly, how governments, financial institutions, and private organisations must respond.
Distinguished Panel
The discussion will be chaired by Frances Yong, Founder of White Byte and MAIA Winner 2025, and I’ll be speaking alongside:
- Hayley van Loon, Chief Executive Officer, Crime Stoppers International
- Rebecca Miller, Regional Coordinator – Human Trafficking & Migrant Smuggling, UNODC Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific
Together, we bring perspectives from crime prevention, international enforcement collaboration, and human trafficking intervention.
What We’ll Address
Our conversation will focus on:
- The convergence of cybercrime, financial fraud, and human exploitation
- The role of organised crime syndicates in scaling scam operations
- Emerging tactics used to manipulate and exploit victims
- Gaps in current prevention frameworks across the region
- Practical, actionable strategies for organisations to strengthen resilience
This is not just a theoretical discussion. The aim is to provide grounded insights based on real-world cases and frontline experience.
Why This Matters
Southeast Asia continues to be a hotspot for scam operations and trafficking networks, with significant financial and human costs. As these criminal models become more advanced, traditional prevention approaches are no longer sufficient.
We must move toward proactive, intelligence-led, and collaborative prevention strategies—across borders, sectors, and disciplines.
